Aminata "Ami" has been helping strengthen nonprofits and helping them bridge the gap between accounting and operations for 8+ years. Ami's background includes leadership position as Chief Financial Officer for United Way and Camp Fire Alaska. She is a graduate of Coe College and has an MBA from Kaplan University. Ami is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the state of Iowa.
Maria Olson has lived in Alaska since 2017. She has experience in public accounting working for both Altman Roger and Company as well as KPMG. Maria earned her bachelor’s degree at Montana State University. She began her career in public accounting then explored industry accounting serving as the financial controller for Alaskan Nonprofits and is currently working on obtaining her CPA license. She spent 4 years performing audits for city governments and other municipalities. As Senior Accountant, Maria oversaw the successful performance of audits
and maintained client/auditor relationships. Later in her career, as the controller for United Way of Anchorage and Alaska Behavioral Health, Maria owned month-end and annual close procedures including booking all journal entries, reconciling accounts, investigating variances, and following up with internal stakeholders. She has extensive experience with month-end and annual close procedures, audit preparation and oversight, budget building and monitoring, cash flow management, and board reporting. Maria loves helping clients with financial accounting needs
so that they are able to focus more on serving their constituents.
